Press Report 20th September 2019

Another round of tense encounters this week at the club. Current champion Steve Levy (187) kept his cool to dispatch a determined Cliff Peach (104). Steve Dickinson (160) managed to get on the scoreboard (some say fortuitously) with a win against James Fowler (106). Ben Wilkinson (141) kept his points at maximum with a win over Richard Thomas (70). James Schofield (148) and Tony Collins (67) played their first game of the new campaign with James coming out on top. Ken Ashby (98) was defeated by Phil McConnell (118) after letting another winning position slip through his fingers.

New member Dennis Cowley (183) showed he’s in the hunt for the title by dismantling Roy Greenhalgh (104) in no uncertain terms. The game of the week (and ‘Giant Killer’) award though must go to Alan Davies (106) who totally outplayed David Archer (166) to get his first points on the board. With a few members still yet to return the season is definitely warming up.
