Good game John, you had him really. Those end games are tricky. So difficult especially when the clock is ticking. Good play early on though.

Good game, John. Yes, move 15 was brave, but it doesn't appear completely sound to me. Being candid, I think it's strange he decided against taking it. But, once he didn't, it was even stranger you didn't take the g7 pawn. Anyway, the match as a whole looked very drawish for most of it. Incidentally, two other moves 32 that you might have considered was Qa7 or Qb6. I'd love to know what Shredder thinks of them. I've gone through the implications and I can't see where you don't benefit. The black queen check on b1, for instance, leads to nowhere. Other than, that is, him losing the game. Anyway, go through it. Perhaps I'm missing something obvious. The other guys will surely testify it wouldn't be the first time!

Bad luck John. Bishop to e4 looked good, as you say King moves a little crazy. Save some crazy moves for our game!!

Brave move on move 15, John - effectively offering two bishops for a rook and a pawn. Personally, I think Black would have been quite a lot better if he'd taken the bishop on offer. However you were clearly better once Black had declined to take the bishop.

As you say, you were clearly on top for most of the first 30 moves. I wonder if the clocks were the decisive factor after that?

As is customary, Shredder would like everyone to know what he thinks.

Missed 32. Be4 instead of Kh2? 33. Be4 too late. 34 Kg3?? rush of blood to the head when Kg1 is safer. Poor end game play after decent if somewhat cavalier middle game.
