Cookworthy Cup 2016-17
Congratulations to Ben Wilkinson and David Archer - joint Cookworthy Cup winners for the 2016-17 season
The Cookworthy Cup is the club's knockout competition. Standard time controls apply. In the event of a draw, the winner will determined by a rapidplay game with 15 minutes on each clock; a player declining to play the rapidplay game on the night will be deemed to be the loser.
Here is the draw for the 2016-17 competition. In the first round, the player whose name appears first will play with the white pieces; thereafter colours will be drawn on the night. The two-game Final will take place on two Thursdays late in the season.
This year, the draw is determined from the outset for all rounds. This has the advanage that some players will be able to play their games in the next round before all the games in the previous round have been completed.
