The club's annual festive blitz tournament took place on 20th December 2018. This year a concerted effort was made to prevent Steve Levy from winning - the total of 10 minutes allocated to the players in each game was split according to the difference in grades between the players involved; in the most extreme case the higher-graded palyer got 1 minute and 30 seconds on his clock, with the lower-graded player getting 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
Unfortunately, our attempts to stitch Steve up were a complete failure, and despite the time handicaps he STILL managed to win 100% of his games! Grudging respect. It cannot be denied that he deserved the bottle of Prosecco, presented by Ben Wilkinson who kindly oragnised the event.
A good time was had by all - a great way to finish off the half-season. Merry Christmas, everybody.
