A Good Start to 2015

2015 got off to a good start on Tuesday 6 January with a 4-0 win away win in Division 3 at Torquay Boys' Grammar School. With Torquay losing at home to Newton Abbot on Wednesday, South Hams currently sit top of the Division 3 table, ahead of Torquay on "goal difference":

Division 3PWDLFAPts
South Hams 5 4 0 1 16 4 8
Torquay 5 4 0 1 13 7 8
Newton Abbot 5 2 1 2 9 11 5
Plymouth 4 2 0 2 4
TGBS 5 1 0 4 7 13 2
Teignmouth 4 0 1 3 12½ 1

On Thursday, Ken Ashby and Roy Greenhalgh played their Dunleavy League "decider" to determine which of them would face Cliff Peach in a playoff for the fifth place in the Homan League for the second half of the season. Ken's win means that Roy will play in the Dunleavy League for the second half of the season, while Ken and Cliff will fight it out for a place in the Homan League (they've arranged to stage their fight on Tuesday 13 January).

In other games on Thursday, Phil McConnell beat James Fowler in the first match of the newly-constituted Homan League, Barclay Best beat Tony Collins in the first match of the newly-constituted Dunleavy League, and Cliff (you'll never guess this) drew with Dennis Russell in the Cookworthy Cup. Several friendlies were also played - and it was nice to welcome Miles Fowler back.
