Result of the week was undoubtedly Jim Savage’s win over league leader Phil McConnell in the Dunleavy League – that’s two fine “scalps” for Jim in successive weeks. In other Dunleavy League games, James Fowler, Alan Davies and James Schofield all strengthened their promotion prospects with wins over Richard Thomas, Zak Zaffiro and Noah Farrand respectively. The remaining game in the Dunleavy League was a draw between Oliver Zaffiro and John Belli.

In the M. Wray Shield, Ken Ashby beat Dennis Russell.

Outside the club, in the Devon County Chess Association Individual Competitions David Archer drew with Bill Ingham (Teignmouth), and Phil McConnell beat John Ariss (Torbay).
